As you know, at Columbia Creative we are passionate about sustainability and strive to only work with suppliers that fit with the same values we strive for. So, with this in mind, back in 2018 we made a pilgrimage to southern Ireland to see The Irish Green Guys !
After working with the guys for the past few years we were lucky enough to be invited over for a guided tour of their impressive operation! Upon landing in the gorgeous Tralee in county Kerry we were whisked off by the lovely James Costello on a comprehensive tour of everything from their lush eucalyptus, impressive sussex silver, and quality viburnum. It was great to really get stuck in and see behind the curtain of exactly where our foliage comes from! We always want to make sure we give you only the best !!!
The guys are a great fit for us as they follow the same strict guidelines when it comes to
Freshness - we both want to make sure we get the foliage from Tree to your door in the shortest time possible, so you can enjoy your wreath with the knowledge it will last until Christmas Day!
Quality - we both make sure we only use the best cuts. No exceptions!
Environment - we both strive to make sure our carbon footprint and sustainability are held to the highest standard possible.
As well as James showing us the fields (and fields) of lovely everygreens, he also made sure we saw exactly how each stem was cut, processed and shipped. Needless to say we were very impressed! I’m sure you’ve seen our metalic wreath design, and we would be lying if we weren’t excited to see the process James uses to dip dye the stems.
Of course our trip to ireland wasn’t all business! Even though i was pregnant with my first son at the time, we were able to explore some of the beautiful countryside, quaint towns and even go to the sea side (even if it was raining cats and dogs!). As a company we will always continue to make sure we source only the very best for you guys and we’re very proud of our ongoing relationship with Irish Green Guys! if you have a minute check out James’ great blog, where he goes more indepth with exactly what they’re doing at each point of the year.
